OUR HISTORY
In the late '80s Larry and his daughter Alexandra came up with the name Phoenix for a remodeling company. Both liked the image of the Phoenix, a mythical bird rising from the ashes as a symbol for helping folks make their existing homes a better, more comfortable place to live. The idea lay dormant until April of 2003 when Larry first created Phoenix Group Construction. When the opportunity arose Alex and Larry created the logo and Alex provided the expertise to create the web site. From the beginning Phoenix Group Construction has created a reputation for detailed accurate estimates, quality and timely completions.
In October of 2007 Larry's wife, Cathy Mock, decided to resign from her position at Oregon Education Association and join forces with Larry at PGC. Together they form the core of PGC and continue to move forward with passion and commitment to you, the homeowner. The mission statement, "Building Relationships and Creating Value," forms the foundation for how they operate. Beginning with a very detailed bid through the completion of your project, you will find Phoenix Group Construction committed to accuracy, quality, communication, customer service, and timely completions.
WHY DO PEOPLE CHOOSE PGC TO COMPLETE THEIR REMODELS?
- Total transparency and attention to details; we provide a very detailed preliminary cost analysis and fixed price bids. We show net costs of all items necessary to complete your project. Then we show all of our markups so there is nothing hidden, ever.
- Once you accept the preliminary cost analysis, we bring our team of subcontractors on site to make sure that they completely understand their scope of work. When we receive the bids from our subs and suppliers, we know what your project is going to cost. We then provide you with a detailed fixed price contract that will not change unless you change the scope of work or we find unexpected issues which we have to correct. We do not charge any profit or overhead for having to repair unexpected problems.
- At the time of signing the contract, we provide you with a complete schedule of the work and update this schedule as necessary throughout the construction process. We have a reputation for finishing our project on time. No excuses.
- We allow you to pay our major subcontractors and suppliers directly, if you so choose. When you pay the subs and suppliers directly there are no worries about construction liens.
- We allow you to do some of the work yourself assuming that you are capable and agree to a schedule. This can save you money.
- We use a stable team of proven subcontractors and suppliers who share our values of quality and on time completion of the work. Quality workmanship provides good value for the finished product.
- We provide invoicing on a weekly basis. This allows us to pay our subs and suppliers on a weekly basis which helps reduce project costs.
- We only ask for 10% of the contract amount at the signing of the contract.
- We specialize in residential remodeling, especially kitchen, baths, basements, garages, and first floor additions.
